Journey to Sabah (Tawau-Semporna-Sandakan) (Day 3rd)

We went around Pasar Tanjung Tawau and bought amplang/pelang-pelang crackers, crispy and crunchy kuih cincin (ring cookies), sesagun (coconut powder) and udang kering (dried shrimps). Amplang is the small round crackers which has fish and squid flavours. The dried shrimps were very fresh, clean and the price was lower than normal. Suddenly, the kids out of nowhere offered help to carry our things and then we paid RM1 each. As per my understanding, the kids were bajau laut child and it was common for them to do that. I felt sympathy cuz they have to work (carry big heavy boxes) in their childhood age.

Then, we pop round Pasar Gantung Tawau and I was interested to buy kain pelikat benang 9000 (ayam serama) and kain pelikat benang 5000. I have been told that the more thread were used, the finer and better quality of the kain pelikat will be produced. Besides, I bought kaftan batik halus Indonesia and my fwen purchased tshirt and blouse. We break at eatery nearby and taken away Asfar Rice.

previous >> Planning

Day 1st (Friday)
We woke up tardy, freshen up and having a white rice, crispy bitter gourd, spicy coconut milk with crab and mango juice as our brunch.

Then we went to Semporna Ocean Tourism Centre to sense the fresh oceanic while walking along the floating resort. We saw fishes, crabs and lobsters along the floating aisle. We wish to see a big fish here (RM2/pax) but the site has been closed. So we plan to visit again on tomorrow. For those who plan to island nearby Semporna (such as Mabul, Sipadan, Kapalai etc) may spend a night at Dragon Inn Floating Resort or Seafest Hotel.

Journey to Sabah (Tawau-Semporna-Sandakan)

Actual journey was on 16-20 Jan 2014

Planning
Below is a Bohey Dulang Island picture which was snapped by my fwen staying at Semporna. One of the reasons I plan to Sabah cuz I wish to go Mabul-Sipadan-Kapalai. Unfortunately, “High Seas Warning” has been declared on a week we went there, which means we were prohibited to ride on boat to those islands. No choice, we stick our plan fly to Sabah cuz already bought the tickets.

We parked the car at Putrajaya Sentral and buy a ERL train-shuttle service to LCCT. The train drop us at Salak Tinggi station and we continued journey by shuttle bus direct to LCCT.
